How Many days till Christmas??

Okay, nana, pops, grandma, and grandpa, here is a teaser of what's to come from the Christmas photo shoot. The kids did so great I let them have ice cream before dinner! We had a difficult time choosing the Christmas card photo!

The kids go trick or treating

This is the first year our church did not have the fall festival because of the construction on campus. So we headed out into the neighborhood for the first time ever to trick or treat. I have to admit I was dreading it, but the kids had a blast and it was actually nice to get out and talk to all of our neighbors some that we see often and others that we had never met. This year as you can see, we had Batman and Princess Seidenkranz! We also went to the Franklin Pumpkin Fest last Saturday. Josiah met up with another super hero, Spiderman and then he hooked up with his friend, Aaron, the Ninja.

September fun!

Josiah had his mile run with his Poplar Grove first grade class. The kids made homemade dog treats for Theo. What fun! You can see that they even tasted the dough. It didn't taste too good. (mom tasted it too). This made us all think of Rhett though. We are believing he is in heaven now. And as you can see, breakfast is a hard hat sport! Ana Mei coming in from her bike needing a snack and showing everyone how good of a "winker" she is! I love these kids!

September was so busy!

Once again, it's been over a month since I've blogged. September was really busy, especially for mom (that's me!). I had to take two trips for LifeWay which kept me out of town and that's always hard. Ed is such a good dad as he takes care of everything here at the homefront when I'm away. We celebrated Ana Mei's gotcha day which was August 21. It's hard to believe Ana has been with us over a year now. Our friends, the Chesbros celebrated with us with Ana's friend and crib mate in China, Mei Li. Ana's getting ready to take off her china dress to eat dinner. She is all about parties and party hats!

First grade, already?!?

Here's Josiah on the first day of school. He's sporting a milk mouth! The pics in the solid shirt are the annual photo in Ed's shirt and the last one is first day of kindergarten. I know he grew 3 inches last year. Growing up too fast! I cannot believe the changes in one year. WOW! We go to year around school so JT's already been in school for a month. He's reading like a champ. It's been really tough because it's too hot for kids to go outside at 105 degrees! They have to stay inside for recess an PE. What a drag! Then when he gets home it's too hot to play outside. We're praying for rain here!

I'm back . . . but Rhett's not

Rhett has never been found. I have been so sad and not admitting that I no longer have 2 dogs. I just pray that someone is taking good care of him. I miss him so much. Ana Mei still gives a bone treat to Theo and then says, one for Whett? It makes me so sad especially that she will forget Rhett. I still believe miracles happen today so he may show up yet.

A top 5 worst times in my life . . . really

I've been too sad, and life has been too turned upside down on many accounts to blog. My dog, Rhett ran away from my mom & dad's house a week ago yesterday. I have been so sad. I'm not giving up. Ed has been great to do all he can to help with the search. We're posted on several sites, over 50 signs up in the town he ran and checking the pound every day too. He is 13 so I am so worried. Theo (his white brother dog) is grieving too. The kids are okay but it breaks my heart when Ana Mei cups her hands to her mouth and yells, "Wett, where are you?" My heart is breaking so please pray Rhett is safe and will find his way back to us. More later . . .

More of Paradise!

It just couldn't get much better than this. Josiah did have an accident the first full day we were there. He slipped getting out of the pool and busted the inside of his lip and lost a tooth. It scared me to death as at first, there was a lot of blood. The tooth was ready to come out anyway and Josiah was excited to have the tooth fairy visit for the first time! I'm using flickr for the pics so the grandparents can see them all. Click on the photo and it will take you to the flickr website where you can see all the pics.

Anniversaries

4 anniversaries to mention . . .
June 14 was a benchmark for Ed and I as we celebrated 10 awesome years of marriage. I neglected to post on that day but wanted to say thanks to Cher Hogue for bringing us together, and to our Jesus for sustaining us and keeping us more in love today than we were even back then.

This past week we also celebrated mom and dad's 49th wedding anniversary. Wow! We got a sitter and wined and dined them at Sandy's, downtown Franklin. It was fun. Ed and I are so blessed to have parents who have been married for 49 and 50 years!

Today marks the 1 year anniversary of my bicycle accident. I thought about staying in all day, but had to work downtown. The status of my hand is that typing is no problem although it gets sore, however, there is a possibility of another surgery. I still cannot close my hand all the way and do not have any strength in it. I have turned into a lefty in a lot of ways. I hate to write anything lengthy because it hurts my hand and my writing becomes sloppy!

Today also marks the 10 year anniversary of Ed's open heart surgery. He's now healthy and working out regularly, but we couldn't help but think about how I gave him a heart attack after our honeymoon!

Sunday, June 4 - An awesome day!

Josiah went down front at church yesterday morning to say he's asked Jesus in his heart and wants to be "babatized"! He will be baptized this coming Sunday and we will have photos posted next week! He has given the plan of salvation with his evangicube since he was 4, and he's been telling us for a while now that he already has Jesus in his heart and Ed had heard him pray the prayer with Bibleman, so we decided he was serious about this decision. Saturday during "The Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe" we paused the DVD and talked with him about his decision to let Jesus be the boss of his life. He prayed the prayer again with us and how the angels rejoiced! What an awesome weekend.
